Thank you for visiting my website. I am a filmmaker specializing in documentary, animation, and experimental films.
I studied film and media production and mathematics at the University of Pittsburgh between 2018 and 2023. There, I fell in love with documentary and mockumentary filmmaking, eastern european cinema, cult film, experimental and art filmmaking, and stop-motion animation.
In my work I focus on public spaces and the sensory experience of moving through and observing them. I like to dwell on minutiae and highlight the material conditions of places you wouldn’t normally notice. I use digital media to explore and transform these spaces, emphasizing the activity and nuance that is already there. Being from Pittsburgh, I am particularly interested in the range of urban, suburban, industrial, abandoned, and ‘empty’ spaces that exist as a part of the city.
My thesis project Randyland, an experimental documentary short, was selected for four festivals across the United States and in London, and received an award at the first annual Doctober Pittsburgh Collegiate Film Festival in 2023.
Since 2020, with the support of the Creative Arts Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, I have been working on a historical documentary short about Pittsburgh’s Hill District, Developing the Hill.
In 2024, I did the first half of a masters program in critical studies in film and theater at Université Libre de Bruxelles. With the credits from that exchange, I will graduate in August 2024 with a Bachelors of Arts in Film & Media Production and Mathematics.
