Randyland

For a few years, Randy Gilson, the man behind Randyland in Pittsburgh’s Northside, was my neighbor. One night, Randy told me about an idea for a scene that he thought of. There are two versions of himself furiously arguing about the importance of talking aloud to oneself. One version of himself thinks its essential to functioning as a person and the other thinks that talking to yourself makes you crazy. A few months later, Randy and I used this idea as a starting point for Randyland

I submitted Randyland  as my thesis project for the film and media production program at the University of Pittsburgh. After a couple more revisions, I submitted it to festivals.

Randyland was selected for four festivals in 2023.
    Screener Short Films in London
VASTLAB Experimental - VLX6 in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York
    Pittsburgh Independent Film Festival
    DOCTOBER: Pittsburgh Collegiate Documentary Contest
Randy and I were honored to receive the You Don’t See That Everyday Award at DOCTOBER
